Grace Episcopal Church welcomes Martha Jones Burford as our new Minister of Music. Martha comes to us most recently from Canterbury Episcopal School in Greensboro where she has served as a teacher and Chapel Organist. Among a number of other parishes served, Martha served at St. John's Historic Parish and the Church of the Holy Comforter in Richmond.
Martha is a graduate of Duke University and post graduate studies at Duke Divinity School, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She is a published composer, co-founder and editor of the publication Church Music Forward and a member of the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Church Music for the Episcopal Church. She makes her home in Lexington with her husband, David and a kennel of dachshunds.

to learn songs of prayer and praise for daily, family life

Are you a FRETTED INSTRUMENT PLAYER or DO YOU WANT TO BE? Martha would LOVE to have a fretted ensemble rehearsal and to have fretted instruments (guitar, ukulele, mandolin…) accompany selected hymns and songs in the liturgies.
